In what will hopefully be a continuing series, we look today at cool-looking gods. Today’s diety: Ganesh!
Ganesh is a elephant-lookin’ diety from Hindu culture. Ganesh is the remover of obstacles, and a patron of arts and sciencies, which is, ya know, cool and all.
Why Ganesh is cool: Check it. Ganesh is like buddha, with the whole jolly and fat thing. But Ganesh is a buddha that’s also an elephant. I mean, come on man, that’s sweet. Ganesh also has the whole holding of orbs thing going on, and the whole holding of scepters and a whip and a talk-to-the hand thing, because Ganesh has four arms! Sweet, right? Slap on a cool headdress and you can carve that out of wood for me anytime, baby.
