Today’s Diety: Mictlantecuhtli!
So this guy’s name means “lord of the realm of the dead,” which is appropriate, because he’s the ruler of Mictlan, the sub-basement of the Aztec underworld. So yeah. Without knowing too much about the Aztec whatnots, he seems like the last guy you’d want to meet. But that just goes to show you that everyone can find love, because he does, in fact, have a wife. They may, however, be closely related as her name is Mictecacihuatl.
Now, this picture I think is kinda weird, because he’s supposed to look like a skeleton or at least a dude wearing a skull hat. However, the picture totally looks like a monkey. Silly Aztecians. Speaking of animals, his symbolic animals are apparently a spider, an owl, and bat.
So a spider, an owl, and a bat walk into a bar. They turn to each other, and then drag everybody in the bar down to the lowest pits of hell. Luckily, there’s a monkey!
